Abuse against Transgender Women in US Immigration Detention
This report based primarily on intreviews conducted between June 2015 and August 2015 in seven US cities -New York, New York;Washington, D.C.; Houston, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; Tucson, Arizona; Los Angeles, California; and San Francisco, California- as well as interviews in detention facilities in Santa Ana, California, and Houston, Pearsall, and El Paso, Texas. These cities were chosen because community advocates and immigration attorneys identified transgeneder women who were then being held or had recently been released from immigration detention.
